“Notre Dame Youth Football sign-ups for the fall will take place Friday, April 16th and Sunday, April 18th from 5pm to 8pm at Notre Dame High School”

When I visited Sacred Heart to promote the new football program, the enthusiasm from the kids was the greatest I’ve ever seen.  I think the main reason is owed to the sad fact of Sacred Heart closing;  the kids seemed to respond to the idea that, the school may separate them, but they can still play together on the same team.  Our program is doing what we had hoped:  unifying the Catholic schools and bringing many of our boys onto the same team;  we strengthen the Church by connecting our children, our parishes, and our schools.  Any help that you can provide to enable us to spread the word is greatly appreciated.

Sign-ups for Notre Dame Youth Football are April 16th and 18th, from 5pm to 8pm at Notre Dame High School.  The 3rd/4th grade division is open to children who are either in 3rd/4th grade OR are 8/9 years-old on September 1st.  The 5th/6th grade division is open to children who are either in 5th/6th grade OR are 10/11 years-old on September 1st.  The team is open to parishes that traditionally send to Notre Dame High School:  St. Jane, Holy Family, OLPH, Saints Philip and James, Sacred Heart, Our Lady of Mercy, and St. Anthony.
Please forward this message to anyone you know who might be interested.

Thank you,

school visit (click here)

March 2, 2010

Dear Sacred Heart Parents:

Monday, March 29 has been designated as new school “visit day.” Unfortunately, our students will go in many different directions at the end of this school year, and my fellow parochial school principals have agreed to welcome students on this day.

Our students will sit in classrooms and spend a normal day at your choice of schools.

  • Students will not be counted as “absent” as long as they are visiting a school for the entire day.
  • You must provide your own transportation to and from the school.
  • I would suggest a “bag lunch” for the day.
  • Casual uniforms will be the dress requirement for the day.
  • OLPH has limited seating and may not be able to seat everyone.

We will be open normal school hours for those families who choose not to visit other schools. Please indicate below if you plan to visit another school on March 29 so that your student(s) will not be counted absent, and so we can contact each school of your intention.

If you have any questions please call the school office. Thank you.

P.I.E. for January 20th

January20

January 19, 2010

Dear Friends:

As our students have no doubt reminded you, our annual observance of Catholic Schools Week starts in ten days. Many students look forward to the week each year because it includes enjoyable events and special treats. But it’s also a time for us to celebrate the enduring value of Catholic education and focus on the gift that it provides to our young children. During Catholic Schools Week, we reach out to the community to build awareness of what our school offers. And we thank all those who work hard every day to make our school excellent: students, families, faculty, staff, volunteers, community supporters, and local and national leaders.

One of the most important roles of families is preparing young people for fulfilling lives of love and service to their families, their communities and the Lord. That is why the 2010 Catholic School’s Week theme is particularly fitting. “Catholic Schools: Dividends for Life” underscores the long-standing tradition of Catholic education to instill in students the faith, knowledge, morals, and discipline that will enable them to fulfill their future roles in life. Now, more than ever, a Catholic education is truly an investment in the future that is worth the consideration of every family.

Check the attached schedule of events to see what we’ve planned for the week. Please join us in the celebration, and encourage your friends and neighbors to participate also, particularly those who may be considering Catholic education for their own children. I think they will be impressed by the attitude, behavior and accomplishments of the students they observe.

Also, please join me in saying thank you to our teachers, staff, administrators, board members, volunteers and everyone else involved in running Sacred Heart School. Through their dedication and commitment they make our school an excellent example of how Catholic schools provide “dividends for life.”

Devotedly yours in Christ,

Mr. Jack Schulte

Principal
